| PRIMROSE magazine Issue 1 |
You may have noticed that over the last few weeks I haven't been posting quite so often and that is because I have been working on the launch of PRIMROSE magazine!
As part of my university project this term, I was required to create a magazine, along with a supporting website and film, which was based on one of London's fashion villages. My group, which was unfortunately, out of all the possible colour choices available, was titled the beige group, decided to focus on Primrose Hill and in particular Regents Park Road and its affluent dog owners.
Created as a free glossy quarterly for residents of Primrose Hill and the surrounding area, with a shifting focus each issue, we were keen to make a magazine that was fun and quirky without the generic content found in most local magazines. We opted for a fresh and stylish visual layout and a tongue-in-cheek photoshoot title 'Bitch Please' in order to create a publication that was worth reading for all of the right reasons.
A lot of hard work has gone into the launch of this magazine, particularly from myself and Shona of SW Fashion and although it has been at times a stressful process, the end result makes it so, so worth it. Of course we wouldn't have been able to create such a wonderful magazine without the help of the following people:
Photographer for the Bitch Please! shoot
Hair and Make-up Artist for the Bitch Please! shoot
Julia Caeser
Model for the Bitch Please! shoot
Jewellery Designer who lent us her gorgeous jewellery for the Bitch Please! shoot
Chelsea Dog Boutique who lent us their luxury dog collars for the Bitch Please! shoot
Antique store who let us use their shop for the Bitch Please Shoot!
And also...
Monsieur Jacques and Yvonne Klemperer - Our dog model and his fantastic owner
Cristina Campanaro - my mum who did all of the illustrations for us (thanks mum!)
Please have a read and let me know what you think. I just hope you love it as much as we do!
Oh and now that I've created a magazine from scratch, don't think this is the end. Even if we don't create a second issue of PRIMROSE, I will definitely be creating another magazine in the very near future - just wait and see!
